Blllaaahhh! Oil to drip on your hands! Just another step in the preparation to remove the 2-barrel intake from this 327 that was put on from a 283 Chevy engine some time Back. All the proper parts were found to put the proper intake system back onto the 327 in the way of the proper 4-barrel intake and the Carter AFB carburetor. When removing a distributor, make a picture/movie of how things are lined up on the device and note which direction the rotor turns when pulling the assembly out of the engine. Some playing with the oil pump pickup drive with a slot screwdriver may be needed to line up the distributor shaft when reinstalling to ensure the rotor ends up back in the same place. Make sure nobody cranks the engine, all the more reason to disconnect the battery when doing engine work.
